Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo teamed up to play in a United Nations charity match on Monday night.
The 12th annual contest against poverty raised money to help fight the Ebola virus in west Africa.
Ronaldo and Zidane - who played together at Real Madrid - were joined by former France and Manchester United goalkeeper Fabian Barthez, ex-Barcelona and Netherlands defender Frank de Boer and one-time Paris Saint-Germain and Nigeria playmaker Jay-Jay Okocha, as they took on a St Etienne all-star’s team in France.
The one-time Barca, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Brazil striker showed he still has an eye for goal by scoring a hat-trick inside an hour, with Youri Djokaeff the first to congratulate him after his first goal.
Then Clarence Seedorf, once of Ajax and Real, put the Ronaldo-Zidane XI further ahead with a cheeky chip which drew applause from former Milan and Brazil right-back Cafu watching in the stands.
Ronaldo had two opportunities to score his second goal after his initial shot crashed against the crossbar, before Poborsky gave the frontman a second chance which the 38-year-old calmly side-footed home.
The Brazilian then completed his hat-trick in style after a slow-motion one-two with Zidane, followed by another lovely finish into the corner of the goal past a helpless Barthez.
Zidane, 42, could have got his name on the scoresheet in injury time, only for his free kick from the edge of the area to sail high over the bar as his side lost 9-7 to the St Etienne XI.
